Harker girls play first game together
Senior Women’s Navy Sapphires
Navy Women’s for the Win this week finishing on 157 against Helensvale purple 113 The runaway bay women’s navy cricket team today overall did amazing job from batting bowling and to fielding. We had an amazing, fun, supportive time not just from our team but the opposing side. Kirsten making 17 runs and Beck making 19 runs in the first innings by hitting the ball all over the field. Then came in Sarah making 15 runs and Kelly making 18 runs. After that Nic and Shana came to the pitch to dazzle us with their amazing running between the wickets, Nic ending on 7 runs and Shana was our big hitter of the day making a top score of 25 runs. For Jade’s second game with us she went out with confidence and started her batting with hitting a 4 and ending with 17 runs to her name. Afterwards Mel hit the pitch scoring 11 runs. Next, we had the Harker sisters Tia and Brianna taking the crease for there debut cricket game for Ladies Navy Team, Tia finishing on 13 runs and Brianna on 15 runs, With the navy team finishing on a total of 157 runs. A big Thank You to the Harker girls for filling in and playing on our team today, we really appreciate it, great effort. The navy team went out to field in the sweltering heat while stepping up their bowling and fielding this week with minimal wides, no balls and overthrows given to the opposing team, with great backing up and chatter on the field. A few catches missed in the field but overall amazing effort by all. Big mention to Nic who put her body on the line to stop the ball going for a 4 and in doing so rolled her ankle, which ended her cricket day, Beck seeing stars from the heat saw her coming off the field for the rest of the game. A special thanks to the Helensvale purple team for helping our injured ladies and being so supportive to our team. Who will be crowned the King or Queen of RUNS for their last innings?
