Seniors 31/1 & 1/2/2026

First Grade

The 1st grade took on top of the League Queens on Aussielec Oval which was always going to be a tough challenge in the form there in. We turned up to a fresh flat looking pitch with a bit of grass on it. We won the toss and had a bat. There bowlers bowled well hitting there areas and caught well which resulted in quick wickets for them. Talha at the top of the order put up a resistance to the barrage before he fell for 32 of his 47 balls. At 61-6 we found ourselves in a sticky situation. However, Jawid came out and showed excellent character as he singly handedly took the attack to there bowling. With 5 sixes and and 4 fours, he got a great 51 of 28 balls. The tail wagged a little with Mo getting 20 runs. We finished on a total of 160.

We started the bowing innings well, Suranga was as tidy and threatening as always. He got the ball to move of the deck and made the queens top order panic. He took 3 wickets in his opening spell to get us right into the game. He finished his 9 overs going for 33 runs and taking 3 wickets. All the other bowlers bowled well putting pressure on the batsmen but with a low target to defend we were searching for the wickets which didn’t come and they cruised to a victory 3 down. Ted and Travis bowled well on a pitch that didn’t offer much for the spinners.

We have a week off now and go into the break 3rd. It’s going to be an exciting final few games to see if we can grab a top 4 spot. We return with an important game against Southport.

2nd Grade

Round 16 of the seaon saw the table topping Bay 2s taking on the 24/25 winners but this season wooden spoon contenders, Queens. Oh how the fortunes of each side have changed in the last 12 months. A lightning-fast looking outfield was sadly paired with what looked like a sub-par pitch featuring a large amount of grass clippings rolled into it where there had been no success in cultivating natural coverage. After losing my first toss in a while, we were sent in to bat which would'nt have been my preference but with a batting lineup including 8 top 6 batters (plus me), I had every confidence that we might post a chalengeing total.

Hoc an Proc paired once again to open our innings. The first few overs proved that it was a bit of an up-and-down type deck and confirmed that it would be crucial to see of the new ball. With the score at just 11 runs, Proc snicked one that was caught low-down at first slip for 5(13). Timmy Murdoch replaced Nath and looked solid as Hoc raced away, finding boundaries both in front and behind the wicket. The pair saw off the opening bowlers but as expected the real test began when Capt. Foster took the ball first change. Hoc brought up a blistering 50 in just 40 balls while shortly after surviving some of the balls of the century, Timmy 15(30) succumbed to the outswingers of the opposing skipper and was caught at first slip with the score at 2/78. Tom replaced Tim and while Hoc pierced gaps and teased the field, Tom survived one dropped catch after another as he raced to a run-a-ball half-century. The pair put on 81 runs before Tom's luck finally ran out as he chopped on for 52(58). Mitch McPhee, who made a cameo appearance for the  2s this week replaced Tom in an attempt to lift the run rate and relieve some pressure from Hoc who continued to toil away . After hitting a 3 from his first ball, Mitch duly obliged the cheers from the crowd and raised the bat shortly before executing a low bow. Mitch's second ball disappeared over the cover boundary for 6 into a resident's yard as our score raced towards 170 inside 30 overs. Mitch's perfectly-timed cameo of 23(14) came to an end as he was caught on the fence. Austin replaced mitch and put the foot down straight away, under explicit orders to get Hoc to his ton. With a single through mid-wicket Hoc brought up his hundred from just 89 deliveries as Austin too raised the bat, took off his lid and roared to the crowd 'this one's for you baby'. In a knock that we all had been expecting for quite some time, Hoc didn't offer up a single opportunity nor did he play a shot in anger. Looking to steer the team towards an insurmountable total, Hoc was bowled by Foster for 107(98), that featured 12 fours and 2 sixes. Through tears of joy, Austin managed to compose himself and got into his work after Hoc's dismissal, as he belted 2 sixes on the way to a classy finisher's innings 27*(21). Connor Boyd supported Aus with 11*(9) and as the pair walked off the field we had posted 5-258 from our 40 overs. What might have seemed a big total, in my mind was about 12 short of complete safety given the small boundaries square of the wicket and based on my past experiences defending at Angove...

Stevie Watson took the new ball from the northern end and as usual and was partnered by George Edney from the Southern end. A few eventless overs passed before Stevie 'Weekly' Watson once again, stuck his hand up and proclaimed 'the first wicket is mine boys'. After rapping one of the openers on the front pad right Infront of middle stump, the umpire agreed with our appeal and eventually raised the finger. George struggled to find rhythm a little this week but managed to get out of his spell with tidy figures of 0-18 from 4 while Stevie chipped away at the top order - claiming his second and third wickets in quick succession to leave Queens at 3-51. As we have come to expect, Stevie took the first 3 scalps on the scoresheet! Lets just pause for a moment to remind ourselves that Steve is just 16 years old! Mitchell Bailey replaced George at the southern end and was nigh-on unplayable. With pace, swing and a bit of nip in the deck, it's no wonder that he returned the best run rate of our innings (3.83). Only moments after asking the Queens no.5 his age, Mitch sent him on his way with a ball pitching just short of a length on middle and leg that then jagged away to take the outside edge. The batter was 14 y.o. but that did nothing to dampen Mitch's elation at the breakthrough. With Stevie finishing his spell with the excellent figures of 3-32 from his 8, Tom Gosset took the ball from the Norther end of Angove. In what was a completely uncharacteristic performance Tom was clattered to all parts as he returned figures of 0-59 from 8 overs.

The most avid of readers may at this point, be tempted to cast their minds back roughly 18 months ago to the Bay 2s previous match at Angove. On the 5th October 2024, the Bay 2s posted a hefty total of 6-245 against Queens, courtesy of a classy ton from Lucas Frazer who was amply supported by Mitch McPhee with 82(61), only to see it chased down with 1.5 overs to spare. The thought of that match was very much in my mind as our middle overs bowlers began to take some real tap from the Queens batters.

After selfishly dragging Mitch Bailey who returned figures of 6 overs, 1-23, I hurled down 3 boring overs for 9 runs as we attempted to apply the 'squeeze'. Wise to our ploy, the Queens batters then began to launch both myself and Tommy and as the score approached 160, the chase was well and truly on with 10 overs left in the innings. With 2 established batters and 10s needed from the last 10 overs, we set as many boundary riders as the fielding restrictions would permitt. Thankfully, Connor Boyd as he had done the week before, held two crucial catches to remove the two established batters and assisted in my return of 4-54 from 8. With only 7 overs remaining, two fresh batters at the crease, and Tom Gossett having bowled out, I threw the ball to Austin Billing who bowled a couple of tight overs before dismissing no.10 and affecting a tidy run out with the help of Mitch Bailey to see Queens dismissed in 37 overs for 210.

The scorecard might show that we won by 48, but after having played a fair bit at Angove oval, I knew we weren't safe until we took that last wicket. The small square boundaries coupled with a lightning-fast outfield can make it almost impossible to restrict boundaries, let alone produce dot balls. The best sides win gritty and in some cases ugly. I'd class this victory in the former category but it's fair to say that Queens put up an amazing effort on their home turf for a side that sits bottom of the ladder. Even with the ball flying to all parts, we kept our heads and played the numbers perfectly this week boys. Congratulations to Jack Hocart for your first of what we all hope to be many tons for the Bay! While it might have been nice to finish at 4PM, I somehow enjoyed the toil and the returns that came as a result of it. We look ahead to next week as we take on a strong Beaudesert at their home ground.

Patrick.

3rd Grade

3rd grade v Alberton

After the first loss we had last week we knew we had to bounce back stronger We travelled to Pimpama sporting complex on Saturday to play Alberton, What looked to be a terrible track we won the toss and bowled and it did turn out to be a terrible track was absolutely rough as guts, We opened the bowling with Cam Davis and Josh Hoare, Cam taking a wicket in his 1st 2nd and 3rd over Cam bowled really well 3 wickets for 20 runs off his 8 overs straight, Josh at the other end 2 wickets for 24 runs off his 8 straight, We were also glad to have Locky Creed wicket keeping for us who done an excellent job behind the stumps on a ground that was horrendously unpredictable, Jake Shultz and Will Altass were next on Jake taking 1 wicket with a handy catch from Raffels both lads only bowling 3 overs before turning to spin, Hamza 2 wickets for 13 runs off 4 overs and Kunal our leggie2 wickets for 6 runs off his 4, We bowled really well as a unit and bowled them out for 99 runs,
We knew chasing another low total wasn’t going to be easy especially with how the wicket was playing We opened the batting with Brendo and Josh, Josh got bowled for 7 off 11 balls and brendo looking really good before getting out caught behind even though he missed the ball for 13, This bought in Hamza and Creedy, Creedy sticking around for 12 balls for his 10 including 2 4s which brings in out big gun Lucas Frazer, These 2 lads carried there bats and played exceptional cricket Lucas and Humza chasing the total under 20 overs lucas ending 44 not out playing a massive roll with 5 fours and 1 six and Hamza 14 off 30 with 2 fours,
So 3rd grade back to our winning ways with a double bounus point win

4th Grade Navy

4 navy match report against helensvale

First things first – super proud moment for the Bay as one of our own, the big rig Jamie, chalked up his 100th game. Huge effort, big man

Nathan wins the toss on a very tidy bit of syntho up at Riverstone and we decide to have a hit.
Jamie and Jeddy open the batting… and unfortunately Jamie’s celebrations were short-lived. Five balls in, an absolute seed finds the off stump.

Straight back to the sheds wondering what just happened.
Things didn’t exactly improve through the middle.
S Rudd, Jeddy, Hamad and Flynny all fell quick, cheap, and in no particular order, which really put the brakes on.
Enter N Rudd, standing tall while chaos unfolded around him. Only two boundaries in his innings, but if you’ve ever seen Nathan bat, you know he doesn’t love running — he prefers to mentally dominate bowlers instead. A gritty 28 off 35, doing all the hard yards while everyone else treated their wicket like a free trial.

Matty needs to learn to block the ball coming in at the 8th over gets off the mark with a 6 & then out a couple of balls later caught on the boundary on 15 off 8

Arran chipped in down the bottom with 11 off 33 but no one would stay around with him so he decided to try & clear the boundary & got caught at mid on

We got rolled for 86 off 22 overs

We opened the bowling with 2 newbies to the bay

Khan (left armer) bowls pretty bloody quick but swings the ball a mile it was awesome to keep to & watch.
Khan can be one very happy man his first wicket in BAY colours was none other then Ben Daley
Then Khans next over he got out there other opener with a caught behind then he got out hawks 2nd best batsman for a golden

Khan: 4 overs, 3–14. Take a bow

Then somehow, Flynny convinced both N Ruddy and myself that he deserved a bowl… and annoyingly, he was right.
Second ball — stumped.
Bowls with all the confidence of a bloke who definitely shouldn’t have that much confidence.
Flynny: 4.5 overs, 2–18.

which put helensvale at 4 - 39 so we were still in the game

Unfortunately, Helensvale then decided to play the most boring cricket known to mankind. No risks, nothing in the air, just nudging it around like it was a Tuesday night net session. They only lost one more wicket and chased the total down in the 17th over.

Even this deep into the year im still so proud of the boys coming week in week out & we arent getting the results but they are showing so much fight until the very end

4th Grade Orange

Rd 16 4s Orange vs Palm beach

back home at Loxton 3, this week against Palm beach the top side a tough assignment made even tougher with Palmy sliding 4 blokes down for their push to win a 4s flag,

Our side this week was again on the young side although we did have a couple of our older guys back including a new guy playing his first game with us but someone im sure a lot of people reading this will know living legend Trent Ray(stingers)!!

Our day started with Col flipping the coin & and them calling correctly so we were in the field again,

We opened with Will and James who both started very well both grabbing early wickets 2/23 and the boys were up and about in the field, speaking of the field we had the cones pushed right out so the ground size was big,

The boys were bowling well but the batting was up to it and palmy put on a partnership that was very difficult to break, eventually Kane broke through grabbing the 3rd wicket when the score was on 106 off 18 overs,

At drinks we were thinking that if we took a couple of quick wickets we could get ourselves back in the game.  Unfortunately this didn’t happen & Palmy put on another solid partnership before a change in bowling bringing Gus Richardson into the attack with almost immediate effect picking up their top scorer with James taking a brilliant catch running back behind the keeper from slip, 4/176 then became 5/184, Rocco got his reward for bowling a brilliant spell of spin bowling with Col taking the catch at Long on ,

2 fresh batters, some tight bowling & we were a chance to keep them to par score from the last 7 overs,

but again as good teams do they managed to put on a partnership & having wickets in hand allowed them to take some risks,

Col threw the ball to young Harry with a couple of overs to go and Haz didn’t let him down clean bowling one first ball 6/223,

the Palm beach batters swung hard & connected more often then not at the end managing to get to 6/257 off the 36 overs, a good score,

we needed a few things to go our way if we were going to chase it down but you never know cricket is a funny game,

The boys bowled and fielded really well, one of our better bowling & fielding efforts this year,

bowlers

Will 1/37 (6)   James 1/28 (5)

Rocco 1/27 (6) kane 1/30 (4)

Angus 1/26 (3) , Harry 1/25

Jamie 0/21, Jack 0/23, Lucas 0/35

So we then had the big task of getting the runs!!

we opened this week with some experience sending out Chris & Jamie with the plan of getting thru the first spell of bowling and giving us a solid start, unfortunately the bowling was very good and we lost Jamie early nicking to 1st slip for his 4th Duck of year and equal spot on the duck board bad luck mate!!

Kane then smocked one to cover, 2/11 followed by Chris(17) dragged one on to end his day and we had slumped to 3/24,

Not the start we were hoping for and we certainly needed a partnership,

Young Harry Rachow joined club legend Trent Ray a meeting of past glory & the future success,

they batted beautifully together putting together a solid partnership to keep palm beach at bay and scoring our best partnership of 33 before Harry(6) was out for a very patient & muture hand,

Angus joined Trent and the boys put on another small partnership before Trent was out for a very well made 39 our best of the day,

5/78 then became 6/79 as Rocco tried a reverse sweep but sadly came unstuck, we were looking down the barrel now,

we then lost regular wickets firstly Angus (16) then Lucas, Will & James with Jack remaining unbeaten on 8 Col giving the young blokes a bat was the non batter, we finished all out 106, not the result we were after but once again some signs of what the future looks like with some good performances from the young guys that is what we are all about, we play Surfers next week so another challenge but the boys are up for it and look to do the bay proud thanks for reading see you all next week.

Round 16 & we’re up against the lads from the canefields. They’re sitting last without a win so Bizza promised a double ton so the club could erect a statue near Chippa’s. Biz won the toss & decided to bat first, the first part of the plan was firmly in place. Biz was that keen he decided to open with Jamie with 200 on his mind. The innings started well with Jamie dispatching the first 2 balls of the innings to the boundary but was soon heading back to the pavillion for 11, deciding early to give some of the lesser lights a go. Luke was next & him & Biz started to get the scorebord ticking before
Biz skied a rank full toss to the only bloke that could catch, again blaming the pitch, his contribution 40 off 36, unfortunately falling 160 short of his target. Cappy was next sharing a 66 run partnership with Luke before trigger finger Gross adjudged Luke lbw for 66 from 51 balls. Brad strode to the crease next to join Cappy & they shared a 46 run partnership before Cappy attempted 1 too many 6’s, caught for 64 off 38 incuding 6 4’s & 4 6’s. The big double door refrigerator was next in, he marched out to join Brad after the 2nd drinks break in the 24th over with the score on 180. Brad was quietly going about his
business while Fridge was in a bit of a hurry, dispatching boundaries & maximums at will with the hapless opposition chasing leather for the next 12 overs. As the innings drew to a close, Brad’s instructions from Fridge was to get him on strike with the last over rapidly approaching with fridge nearing an unlikely ton. Brad unfortunately perished next for 52 off 34 in the second last over sharing a 131 run partnership with Fridge. Azza was next in & read the Fridge handbook scoring a single with his first ball leaving the big fella on 85 with 6 balls to face. Ball one of the last over sailed over the fence, ball 2 was a dot ball three & we seen a first with Fridge running his first 2 of his career to get back on strike.
3 balls left with the big Westinghouse on 93, ball 4 was another dot, ball 5 also sailed over the pickets eaving 1 run off the last ball, Fridge hit a rare single to bring up triple figures timing it perfectly off the last ball of the innings, him & Azza putting on 24 runs with Azza facing 1 ball for his 1 not out & Fridge 100 not out off 47 rocks with 7 4’s & 9 6’s. We finished with 5/ 347 from our 36 overs. Our turn in the field opening the bowling with Schuey & handy Andy Foenander, Andy feeling a bit lostwith only 2/3 off the triplets in tow with Josh joining his school mates for a game in Brisbane. Alberton started briskly going at 10 an over before handy Andy struck capturing the first 2 wickets leaving them
2/40. Azz & Nate were next to bowl both capturing a wicket each, Alberton crawling to 67 with 4 down. Fridge & Grossie took up the attack next with Fridge claiming the next scalp before Conan & Bizza claimed the next 3 wickets between them leaving the oppo 8/183 from their 36. The wicket takers Andy 2/33 off 6, Azza 1/28 from 4, Nate 1/18 from 3, man of the match Fridge 1/9 off 3, Conan 2/33 off 5 & Biz 1/29 from 4. An expected win with a boost to our NRR with us passing Southport on the ladder, leaving us in first place going into round 17.
Cheers JH.

🎉 150 GAMES | CLUB LEGEND ALERT! 🎉

Today the Runaway Bay Cricket Club joined with community and Government partners to unveil a new bronze statue of Sixth Grade Orange captain Chris Schultz.

The statue commemorates his years of loyal service and 150th game for the club this weekend.

The sculpture was crafted by Chris himself.

It will move from its current, temporary home to Sam Loxton 6, where it will adorn the outskirts of the smallest boundary.

Chris is filled with an almost limitless self-belief and confidence.

The only time anyone saw true fear in his eyes, was when someone whispered in his ear as a joke that he ‘might be forced to play up the grades’.

Chris is often described as being ‘a big fish in a small pond’.

He is more the shark from Jaws - living in the aquarium at Underwater World in Mooloolaba.

Eating guppies, mollusks and crustaceans.

Chris is one of the greatest lower grade players of the modern era. And a likely future Inductee of the Syntho Bully Hall Of Fame.

Well done Chris from everyone at the Bay. Here’s to the next 150.

6th Grade

We lost the toss yet again and after a quick plead to the Bonogin captain, they ignored me and decided to bat.
Lachy (1/20) opened the bowling and struck in his second over, sending the Bonogin captain packing without troubling the scorers.
Sam (2/11) came from the other end, bowling exceptionally well in yet another spell of devastating fast bowling. He too, claimed a wicket in his second over and again in the 8th over of the game to have the visitors in early trouble at 3/38. With bowling changes to become a regular in the heat we added Greg to the attack (much to his disgust due to not keeping), and Mr Reliable Dale who claimed a wicket with his first ball. I'd call that, a captains wicket!

The next over Greg got in on the action with a wicket of his own. Congratulations on your first wicket for the Bay Greg! I faintly heard cries of something gets wickets as a slow back of a length ball down leg side hit the back of the bat and ballooned through to the eagerly waiting keeper of the day Mr Wicket (Amrit). It was a simple catch compared to the dives he performed during the match to save countless runs.
With one over before drinks I heard the batters saying they would not play any risky shots so they could both get to drinks. As Dale was preparing to bowl I asked him to stand down as I had a plan to make them play. Here enters Aidan bowling his first over since he was knee high to a grasshopper.
As planned his first ball was slow and short, which narrowly avoided a waiting trap as it went to the boundary. The second ball was fuller and faster then claimed the batters edge pounding into the ever reliable gloves of Mr Wicket and giving Aidan his first ever wicket! A second captains wicket for the day

At drinks Bonogin 6/82.
Dale (1/16) returned and Darren (2/17) entered the attack bowling a spin master-class hitting a dime on the pitch time and time again, building pressure, all whilst the set up was in place at 3/4 cow corner. The pressure became too much and of course the slog came and I gratefully took the catch.
We were into the tail and who else better than to clean them up than our very own Mop! MD is so effective of mopping up the wickets that he took the final 2 wickets in 2.1 overs including one that was smashed so hard back at him he just stuck the hand out and it stuck. This was one of the best caught and bowled that I've ever seen, and by a veteran taking his first ever catch if you don't mind! Congratulations Mop!

Bonogin all out for 136.

Heath and I opened the batting in my 150th and I quickly learned that Heath had no interest in getting these runs slowly as he smashed 4s and 6s to all parts of the ground as I struggled to middle anything. I finally fell for 31 with the score on 1/75. Mr Wicket came to the crease and looked impressive until he fell for 9.
Then came Aidan. With a quick word to Heath saying that he was just going to take it easy and get his eye in, he then proceeded to dance down the wicket first ball and smash a powerful 4, then repeated the display his second ball for the same result! After his next 2 balls were dots (and we know how Aidan doesn't like to get bogged down), the next ball he absolutely smashed the bowler back over his head in one of the biggest 6s you'll ever see, right over someone's newly erected bronze statue and onto the neighbouring 5th grades ground. Aidan iced the game on 14* off 5. What a way to get your eye in!

I have to mention the mammoth effort from Heath the better Slater. He carried his bat leading us to victory with 76* off a mere 44 balls and in doing so, scored his first 50 in any cricket match outside his back yard.
After the game, Heath could only display his disappointment in the bowling group for bowling Bonogin out so cheaply, almost certainly costing him a century.
Although this truly was another team effort with everyone contributing in many ways, our man of the match was a clear winner to Heath.

Our Bay HEART was on full display today in what is obviously becoming very infectious. Bonogin received our values well and returned them in good faith.

We now sit 5th on the ladder 1.5 games behind Broadbeach in 4th who we play next week. This game has become our crucial season defining game and we can't wait to take the bull by the horns and do you all proud.

Until next week, take care!

Unlocking FrogBox Highlights with PlayHQ and LillyPad

This season, the Runaway Bay Cricket Club is excited to bring more of our cricket to life through FrogBox live streaming and highlight packages. We’ll be aiming to stream as many games as possible across Premier Cricket, Veterans, Juniors, and Women’s cricket, showcasing the talent and spirit of our club to family, friends, and supporters everywhere.

To make the most of this technology, we need the help of our scorers. The key lies in how we use PlayHQ alongside FrogBox’s highlight program, LillyPad. Here’s how it works: When live scoring in PlayHQ, you’ll notice a button on the screen labelled “Bowler Running In”*. This button should be pressed just before—or right as—the bowler begins their approach. Women Division 3 Pink

Runaway Bay Pink vs Loganholme – Loxton Oval 3 Sunday 1st Feb 2026

We knew we were in for a tough day against the talented Loganholme side, but what an enjoyable match it turned out to be.

Winning the toss, we elected to field first to beat the heat. Loganholme came out swinging and posted a strong total of 234 runs, which was always going to be a challenging chase. That said, their run total was also a reflection of our continued improvement in the field. The Pink Diamonds’ bowling continues to develop, with noticeably straighter deliveries down the pitch. While that can invite some big hits, it is fantastic to see the progress and growing confidence across the team.

Our lone wicket came from the beautiful bowling of Tracy, with the catch safely taken by Kirsten — well done, ladies.

Bowling figures:
Kelly 0/47 (3)
Kirsten 0/34 (3)
Faith 0/32 (3)
Sonia 0/30 (3)
Tracy 1/22 (2)
Emily 0/18 (2)
Gaylene 0/22 (2)
Teagan 0/29 (2)

After a short break, we went in to bat. Kelly got us off to a flying start with a beautiful four, followed by two more — one so close to being a six it even confused the umpires. Kelly finished with an impressive 30 off 14 balls and a personal best top score! Well done Kelly.

Kirsten was solid yet again, proving to be a fantastic partner to both Kelly and Faith, contributing 14 runs off 14 ish balls. Faith had a huge amount of fun at the crease, hitting a couple of sixes and finishing with 40 off 14 balls and her personal best score.

Sonia, ever reliable, added 27 runs off 13 balls, with only one dot ball and four fours through the middle innings and yet another personal best score! Emily contributed 9 off 13 balls, while Tracy continued her outstanding form with another personal best 2 weeks running — 23 off 13 balls. With her excellent all-round performance, Tracy was deservedly named Player of the Match for the second game running. Outstanding effort.

Gaylene chipped in with 4 runs, once again showing excellent running between the wickets. She also put her body on the line in the field to stop a certain four and delivered her trademark lovely straight bowling. Gaylene was awarded Player of the Day by both our captain and the opposing team — a fantastic and well-earned recognition.

Mel and Teagan finished us off with 8 runs and 3 runs respectively, Mel equalling her top score another strong all-round performance by both Mel and Teags, we finished the day with 163 runs. Well done Pink Diamonds with half the team making new PB’s with the bat!

A special thank you to Gareth for your ongoing support at training and your guidance during the game — we are improving each week because of you, and we truly appreciate it. Thanks also to Teddy and Col for helping us at training on Fridays, we appreciate your help and support too. Thank you also to Geoff and Mel for scoring, and to our amazing cheer squad. We absolutely love having you there supporting us every week; it means so much to the team.

A minute silence was taken by both teams before the game to honour Nic Lennix’s grandmother

Match Report: Up the Mountain to Mt Tamborine
It was another great day of cricket as we headed up the mountain to Mt Tamborine, full of confidence and ready to play. Once again, luck didn’t go our way at the toss, losing it again and we were sent in to bat.
What followed was an outstanding batting performance built on teamwork and composure. Every batter made a valuable contribution, with everyone reaching double figures. Showing patience, smart shot selection and excellent communication between the wickets, we managed to lose no wickets at all, finishing our innings on an impressive 0/189. A truly dominant batting display and a credit to the whole lineup.
The momentum continued in the field, with the bowling attack backing up the batters brilliantly. All bowlers contributed with tight lines, consistent pressure and great energy, making scoring extremely difficult for the opposition. A special mention must go to G, who produced a superb spell, taking 2/6 off her 3 overs and Ruby, who matched the effort with an excellent 2/8 off her 3 overs. Shout out to the Mt Tamborine ladies great bunch of girls with a positive spirit to match!
Overall, it was an amazing team effort from start to finish — strong batting, disciplined bowling, and a clear demonstration of how teamwork leads to success. Well done to everyone involved!

Over 50’s Orange

The Bay 50s Orange were up against Coomera on Loxton - 2 , fighting for
a top - 4 position on the Table .

The Deck looked great and outfield dry and fast .

The Bay Skip won the Toss and elected to Bat looking for 220 plus with a
strong Batting line up .

Jason and Bally opened up with Jas smashing a quick fire 14 from 7 balls
before snicking a square cut through to the Keeper .

Bally went soon after pulling a short ball to square leg , this bought
Jimmy and the Skip together at 2 -20 .

The Skip was seeing them well till he cut one in half and given out LBW
in disbelief going for 18 from 20 Balls .

Col joined Jimmy and went in a similar way LBW for 11 from 10 Balls with
Jimmy joining him shorty caught for 17 from 30 .

Trav joined Bobby and Bobby left quickly for 1 from 6 balls getting a
rocket which took off with  a great catch  behind by the Coomera Keeper .

Trav gritted his teeth and pushed forward as Murray joined him and by
surprise went for 9 LBW to the same bowler with splinters left in the
Ball like the Skip .

Lee dug in and supported Trav as he went about business hitting the wide
balls to the rope retiring on a very well made 51 from 66 balls  .

The Big Show Kennedy walked to the Middle the join Lee who went next
surprise surprise with another LBW .

We broke for Drinks at the 30th over with the umpire being unable to
continue due to heat exhaustion and did not return to the game leaving
the Batting Sides to umpire , thus the Damage had already been done with
some very very poor decisions impacting the Bays Top Order with the
umpire not really wanting to be involved since the 1st over was bowled .

The Big Show Kennedy started to open his shoulders after drinks pushing
us to a much healthier target than we were at 5/70 with Support from
David Singh at the other end finally going  caught for 31 from 40 balls
with the Bay ending up on 183 all out from 37 overs .

Without Terry Blacktopp  due to Red Hot Summer duties Jas and Trav
opened the Bowling with Jas having to leave early to catch a delayed
Qantas Flight leaving him in the Bar watching the game unfold on play hq
with 2 - overs up his sleeve still  to bowl .

Jas run in hard and gave us everything with one cracking ball that took
the edge with Lee taking a spectacular catch behind in front of 1st slip
, but surprise surprise the Coomera Umpire didnt think he hit it and the
batsman  wasnt sure ,  it was that kind of day :)

Trav bowled well getting us back into the game with 3-10 from his 7 well
supported by The Big Show Kennedy with 2-31 from his 7 , with Bobby ,
Murray chipping in with a few wickets each  & David Singh very unlucky
not to end up with a few also .

To Coomera credit they dug in and chased the runs down with 2 overs to
go 8 down celebrating  their first win for the season with us over a few
cold beers after the game .

Unfortunately today Cricket was not the Winner due to some very very
poor umpiring decisions .

Cheers .

Matty .
