Senior Presentation Award Winners 👀

2025 Senior Presentation Night
The Runaway Bay Cricket Club hosted a fantastic Senior Presentation Night on March 29th, 2025, bringing together players, supporters, and club members for an evening of celebration and recognition.
The event was expertly hosted by the Podcast Boys Colin Wakefield and Jamie Lennix, who added their unique flair to the proceedings and did an outstanding job keeping the crowd entertained.
This special night honored all our senior teams, including the two senior women’s teams, four veteran teams (two Over 40s and two Over 50s), and our six senior sides. It was wonderful to see so many deserving winners receive their trophies, acknowledging their hard work and contributions throughout the season.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with camaraderie and excitement as players and supporters reflected on the highs of the season. The celebrations didn’t end with the awards, as everyone partied well into the night, making it a truly memorable occasion.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the evening. The Senior Presentation Night was a testament to the strong community spirit of the Runaway Bay Cricket Club, and we look forward to another fantastic season ahead!

Thanks Freddie Fowler
Thank You, Freddy Fowler – A Champion On and Off the Field As the season draws to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to Freddy Fowler for everything he has brought to the club this year.
From the moment he arrived, Freddy’s competitive spirit was impossible to miss. Whether it was a tight game or a training session, he brought intensity, focus, and a burning desire to win that inspired everyone around him. But just as impressive as his fire on the field has been his outstanding character off it. Freddy is not just a fierce competitor—he’s a great bloke.
Throughout the year, Freddy went out of his way to lift the standards of those around him. His willingness to help others improve, whether it was through advice in the nets or thoughtful feedback during games, has left a lasting impact on the playing group. He’s taken the time to mentor the younger players at the club, sharing his knowledge, encouragement, and setting an example of professionalism and humility that they’ll carry forward.
Freddy’s individual accolades this year speak for themselves. He claimed the 1st Grade Bowling Average and Aggregate, was voted Best and Fairest, took home the prestigious Sam Loxton Trophy, and finished the season as the leading wicket-taker in 1st Grade across Cricket Gold Coast—a phenomenal effort that highlights just how dominant he’s been with the ball. More than just a brilliant cricketer, Freddy has been a true clubman. We are incredibly grateful that he chose to spend this season with us—thanks for coming and choosing the Bay.
From everyone at the club: congratulations, thank you, and we hope to see you back in our colours again.

Community League Division 2
5th Grade
Unfortunetly for our 5th Graders their season was ended by bad weather causing the Grand Final to be ababoned. No one wants to lose Grand Final like this, it sux. Great work lads on getting that far and bounce back next year and smash it.

Women’s Season Wrap
🏏 Runaway Bay Women's Cricket Season Recap – Pink & Navy Teams 🏏
What an unforgettable season for the Runaway Bay Pink and Navy women's teams! 💙💗 Both squads hit the pitch with passion, grit, and team spirit, leaving it all out there every game—and we couldn’t be prouder.
🔥 Season Highlights 🔥
💥 Powerful Batting Across the Board
Gee from Pink was unstoppable, with a season highlight of 54 runs off 18 balls—strike rate of dreams!
Cath, Shay, Shana, Nunya, Nic, Kelly, Beck, Carol, and Kirsten were just a few of the ladies who consistently smashed boundaries and found the gaps.
Shoutout to Sabreena and Gee for their electrifying 55-run partnership against Broadbeach!
Our Newcomers stepped up with big debuts, showing there's depth and talent all around.
🎯 Bowling Brilliance
Shay dominated with multiple wickets and consistent line and length for Navy.
Sabreena made history with a jaw-dropping hat-trick in her debut game for Pink!
Pink’s Shannon, Cath, and Gee were relentless with the ball, keeping batters guessing and wickets tumbling.
Navy's Shana and Kelly kept the pressure on with some solid bowling and sharp catches.
🧤 Fielding Fire
Catches, run outs, and classic cricket chaos—our fielding game lifted week after week, with everyone getting involved and backing each other up.
🤕 Grit and Glory
Despite battling bruises, heat exhaustion, and rolled ankles, the teams never backed down.
🏆 Victories & Valor
Both teams notched impressive wins—Navy putting on 157 against Helensvale Purple and Pink starting the season strong with a 9-wicket win.
Even in the losses, our Bay women showed resilience, sportsmanship, and growth every single game.
💫 More Than Just Cricket This season was about more than the runs and wickets—it was about teamwork, friendships, family, and fun. We’ve built something truly special.
📣 To all our players, coaches, families, scorers, and sideline cheer squads—thank you! You made this season one to remember.

Senior and Veterans Wrap
As the season comes to a close, we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a year of growth, resilience, and promising signs for the future of our club. Firstly, a heartfelt thank you must go to all our team captains. Their tireless work—both on and off the field—cannot be overstated. From organising teams each week to handling the often-thankless task of selection, their commitment has been invaluable and deeply appreciated. To all the players: thank you for your dedication, your passion, and for turning up week after week to represent the club. While results may not have gone our way this season, the spirit and camaraderie displayed have been second to none. One of the real highlights this year has been the noticeable development of our young players. Given opportunities to step up into higher grades, many have seized the moment to show their growing talent and maturity. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch them rise to the challenge. A special mention must go to our English imports—Ben Houghton, Nathan Barnwell, and Freddie Fowler. Their infectious drive, determination to improve, and love for the game brought a real spark to the club. Even more importantly, their mentorship of our younger players throughout the season was simply priceless. Their influence will be felt long after the season’s end. Commiserations go to our 5th Grade side, who were cruelly denied in the Grand Final due to the weather. The boys gave it everything and were unlucky not to walk away with the title—but we’ve no doubt they’ll come back even stronger next year. It was also fantastic to see so many new faces around the club this season. The sense of community is growing, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back—and hopefully a few more—next summer. Looking ahead, the club is already hard at work preparing for next season. There are exciting plans and new initiatives in motion, all aimed at continuing to build and improve every aspect of our cricket program. We can’t wait to get going again. Watch this space!
