Greetings from Ben Johnson 🏏

Hi to all Seagulls,

The Countdown is on.

5 more sleeps to Round 1 for our 3 Premier Grades and 12 more sleeps for our Community 3 Grades plus all our Junior Seagulls.

I would be lying if I didn’t state how excited I am with the season fast approaching.

Our wonderful Committee and support crew have been very busy behind the scenes to make this season a great one.

They’ve put in place key events around coaching with guest coaches to run master classes along with our social events to bring this wonderful club together and help our Juniors prepare for the season ahead.

I can’t thank the wonderful team enough for their selfless commitment to set us all up for success. 

SEASON 2024/25

Season 2024/25 is a season of rebuilding for our club through our Junior Seagulls and in our Grades.

The focus for me is stripping back the fundamentals of the game of cricket and focusing back on the basics 101’s.

It is about players having a clear role and purpose when they play where we can hold each other accountable and play towards a strategy.

It is also around the development of our players regardless of what team you play in.

I will be working with players at training both seniors and juniors to assist.

We want you to be the best you can be regardless of ability and talent, that is our commitment.

Finally, I want players to have fun with their mates whilst playing a game we all love.

If you are prepared to work hard the rewards and opportunities will be there.

We play together; therefore we win together, we lose together and learn from it. 

This will all start around players rocking up to training sessions and being committed to the season to play their part in taking our club forward. I would encourage you all to get around one another and support the key initiatives for the club.

There will be events throughout the season so watch the Facebook site for more information to come.

However, a few key ones I would like the whole club to get around are: 

• Thursday Night Team Announcements – be great for everyone to stay around after training grab a feed from Bec’s Kitchen and be there for team announcements allowing us to make highlights of anyone making debuts or playing significant matches etc

• Saturday Nights after matches back at the club for a Round Wrap from each of our grades along with any juniors present providing an update on their matches and progress. We will also have a Gift Voucher for Player of the Match from each of our 6 Grades kindly provided by Whack Sports. There will also be food and drinks available creating a wonderful family atmosphere. The expectation is all 1s to be present along with as many of our fellow grades players and juniors to celebrate the successes of individuals along with teams. 

Finally, I would also like to welcome all new players to the club including Ben Houghton from the UK and another player to be announced shortly from the UK also.

These are wonderful, experienced players to add to our talented roster at the Bay.

Please say hello and introduce yourself at training. These are top blokes who want to be part of something special that is brewing down at the Bay this season. Bring on Season 2024/25.
