Junior Open Turf Coach & Coaches Mentor for 2026/27

Dear Bay Family,

Runaway Bay Cricket Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Ross Wallace as our Junior Open Turf Coach and Coaches Mentor for the 2026/27 season.

Ross is one of the most respected and accomplished cricket coaches the Gold Coast has ever produced. His coaching résumé is nothing short of outstanding, with premiership success at every level of the game.

Throughout his distinguished career, Ross has:

• Coached a QCA First Grade Premiership with the Dolphins.

• Guided The Southport School (TSS) to multiple GPS First XI Premierships.

• Led Runaway Bay Cricket Club to premiership success.

• Mentored and developed numerous representative, Premier Cricket and First-Class players.

Ross's coaching philosophy, attention to detail and commitment to player development have made him the benchmark for coaching excellence across the Gold Coast for many years.

In 2026/27, Ross will take charge of our Junior Open Turf program while also serving as a mentor to our coaching group. His role will be instrumental in developing our coaches, strengthening our coaching systems and ensuring every junior player benefits from consistent, high-quality coaching.

As our club continues to build for the future, attracting someone of Ross's calibre is another exciting step in our journey. His experience, leadership and passion for developing young cricketers align perfectly with our H.E.A.R.T. values of Humility, Enjoyment, Attitude, Respect and Teamwork.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Ross back to Runaway Bay Cricket Club and look forward to seeing the positive influence he will have on our players, coaches and the wider Bay family throughout the coming season.
