Suranga Lakmal Joins As Head Coach 🇱🇰
Former Sri Lankan Test captain Suranga Lakmal joins the Runaway Bay Cricket Club as player/coach for Season 2025/26.
Suranga made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2010, and quickly removed Chris Gayle. His final Test was in 2022 against India in Bengaluru.
With 171 wickets in 70 Tests - he is only behind Chaminda Vaas for most wickets taken by a Sri Lankan fast bowler.
Only 38, Suranga brings immense and unrivaled experience to our club and Gold Coast cricket.
His personal qualities - his leadership skills, values and humility will make us all better. And will put our already formidable junior development into warp speed.
