Season 2025/26 is GO!

A New Era Begins 🧡 💙

The Most Anticipated Season In Runaway Bay History Is Here!

It's not just a cricket club.

It’s a community and your mates.

We're gearing up for the most exciting season in our history with a special event.

We invite all seniors, womens, juniors, veterans, life members and their families to attend for a BBQ and meet-and-greet with our incoming coach - former Sri Lankan Test captain Suranga Lakmal. From 4pm Saturday 26th of July

You'll also hear from this season's captains - with an announcement of our new Bay Way.

We're moving towards a strong future.

With new principles and tenets that will uplift the club and inform all aspects of our culture and approach to cricket.

This event is not to be missed. And the best part - after the working bee, it's our shout

We think a person working outdoors feels more like a human being, if they can have a bottle of suds.

Working Bee 🐝

Get ready for an epic day of teamwork and transformation!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26th, because from 1 PM to 4 PM, we're diving into an exciting Club Working Bee! We're on a mission to clear out the shed and back office before the renovation magic begins.

Plus, we're giving all the ground machinery a sparkling clean and sprucing up the club rooms for a fresh new look. We can't wait to see everyone there—because with more hands, the work becomes a breeze!

Senior Preseason Starts 🥵

The Bays Seniors start their preparation for the 2025/26 season under the watchful eye of new coach Suranga Lakmal. Training begins on Tuesday, August 5th, and will continue two nights a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Coach Suranga’s message

First 2 week plan:

✔Fitness work — to build a strong base and get match-ready

✔Fielding sessions — sharpness, intensity, and technique These are very important as we have T20 games and one ODI coming up early, so we need to be quick, agile, and switched on from day one

There will also be a practice game on the 31st of August. Most likely, it will be two T20 games in preparation for the upcoming Cricket Gold Coast T20s.

Darren Greene 1st Grade Captain

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Darran Greene as Club & First Grade captain for the upcoming season

Darran is the greatest homegrown fast bowler the club has produced.

Making his debut in 1997/98, he has played a remarkable 350 senior games for the club and taken over 430 wickets at an average of 20.

Darran is a two-time Gold Coast representative player of the year, and a South Queensland rep.

No-one has ever forgotten his incredible First Grade hat-trick vs Queens. Or his strength in carrying the club through some of its darkest days in the mid 2000's.

Darran embodies fairness, caring, and integrity.

On the field he will bring a competitive, relentless, but humble edge to our club.

Off the field, he will bring his deep love of family and friends.

We are very proud to have him back. A new chapter begins

A former Test captain as coach. A major clubhouse extension. New match-level lighting coming in the future. The Coast's best junior base. Killer family events. A massive and engaged community and database.

Your help and support will be the cherry on top
